Guidelines for each Entry:
  •  Each participant can enter a project or several projects that are centered around a theme. (All of the projects entered in the theme must fit into the designated space.) For example, child can enter one single project or enter a group of projects on a display board, as long as they are centered around a theme.
  • Art must be the original work of the student. Only minimal assistance from adults should be given. Younger kids can have guidance, but still be doing most of the work themselves.
  • Art subjects must be appropriate to a Christian audience and adhere to the HOME content policy
  • Each entry should take up no more space than a 1.5' x 4' area. (This is the approximate area of a display board.) If you are not using a display board, it is recommended that you bring a stand to display your work. Be creative!!
  • Every participant must submit An Artist’s Statement with their entry. This paragraph should either be typed or in the participant's own handwriting.  It should include:
    • Title
    • How it was made
    • Time it took to make
    • Why your child chose this project
    • Any other information helpful to understanding the entry.
    • Kids 6 and under can dictate the information to their parents to type.
  • DO NOT PUT THE CHILD'S NAME ON THEIR DISPLAY OR ARTIST’S STATEMENT.
  • Art projects can be submitted for any or all of the following categories:
    • Drawing
    • Painting
    • Sculpture
    • Printmaking
    • Craft
    • Sewing

Project Judging:
  • The art projects will be judged by individuals outside of the H.O.M.E. group.
  • Projects will be judged according to a point scale. See attached judging form for breakdown of points.
  • Each project will receive either a blue, red, or white ribbon based on the total number of points awarded.
  • Judges will award a Judges’ Choice Grand Award for each age level, in addition to the ribbon given.
  • Fair attendees will vote on their favorite art project for each level. A People’s Choice Award will be given for the art project receiving the most votes in each age level.
  • All participants will receive a participation gift for entering
